ToffeeMark

Player Valuation: £30m
Was linked with being up for sale at the weekend by the Star I think. To be honest I thought this was total rubbish which is why I didn't post then.

A lot of other media outlets have copied the story since (which I still believe is garbage speculation). Do you think the club should say, not for sale, keep quiet and ignore it as drivel, or is there is any truth in it?

I guess he needed a seperate thread, there's at least two stories a week speculating in Rodwell's departure. Not believing any of it till the official Sunderland sign post the photo of him holding up the white-and-red striped tombola-sponsored shirt, though.

I'll be totally honest Mark, you've been had here. Total made up ****e written in the daily mail style, ends up talking about Newcastle and their targets and all kinds of crap about Nasri. 99% of the rumours are absolute rubbish, so we could of saved the continuing Rodwell discussion that's been done already time and time again in a multitude of threads.

I dont think it does mate:

"The Daily Post understands, however, that Moyes has no plans to offload the Birkdale-born man, and that Rodwell has shown no indication that he is looking to leave the club."

That's about as vague as you can get. Plenty of wriggle room in that position if it's the line being spun.

Rooney wasn't going for £50M.

There's no way he'd overtly be put up for sale; however, there is a chance he'll be sold. No club puts their prized assets "up for sale" any more.

Well imo it was either Jack or Fellaini going this summer....My ultra-keen senses are now twitching and leading me to the conclusion, that Rodwell may well be on his way.

Could be completely wrong like

Disclaimer - Mutzo generally doesn't have a clue what he's on about

If push comes to shove and it was a choice between Rodwell & Fellaini to be sacrificed , IMO it would have to be Rodwell.

Neither to leave would be great , but we will see.

Jack Rodwell has had a poor season, but he is a talent and if he has a really good season 2011/2012 his value could rocket.I think the club would prefer to keep him for at the very least one more season,it will give Barkley a chance to progress and give Rodwell a chance to become the player that we hope he can be.

I think the Fellaini situation is more of a concern, the new season about to start and no news about his contract. There was also the piece in the Belgian paper recently which was a veiled "come and get me" offer to clubs around Europe. This is the last window where we hold a strong hand regarding Fellaini.

That’s good news isn’t it? Moyes does not want to sell him and the lad is happy to stay. Reading between the lines, this suggests he is going nowhere, just a thought , like.

Rodwell is pretty poor.

"But...but he's got so much PROMISE!".

Promise he hasn't lived up to in the 92 appearances we've given him in 3 years.
