If it had been Mexico who we had knocked out, we'd have been dancing and singing and fornicating wildly. But it was Panama, and it put Mexico in the playoff.

It was a somber moment. The Panama players collapsed in tears. It was rather hard to watch.

Indeed, Panama only have themselves to blame. You have to feel sorry for the way they went out, squandering a late lead at home, but you can't feel sorry for them going out.

Re the All Whites thing, it's just a stupid name thing they do for all the teams over here: Cricket team called the Black Caps, Hockey team the Black Sticks, Badminton team the Black Cocks (well, they should be called that).

Just looking at their record, they should have really picked up a home win against Jamaica and another point on the road if they wanted to control their situation.

I guess my sympathy comes from them never having been to the World Cup and having their best squad in many, many cycles. It's a Cinderella story that I hoped would have had a happier ending.

Even if it would've meant getting bounced in the group stage, I think it's something that Panamanian fans would've remembered for a long time.

Trying to think of some more, they keep coming out with them Reidy, it's shocking. Netball team is the Silver Ferns, women's Basketball team is the Black Ferns, Bowls team called the Black Balls (positive that one is actually true).
