Ive been tempted to use this, but as a few of the albums on my ipod are of a less than legitimate origin i.e pirate bay would apple be alerted to this? Has anyone tried it under similar circumstances as it looks an interesting tool

I used itunes on windows, it is the absolute slowest heap of rubbish there is, ran like a dog. It's not very intuitive to use either. But that was a couple of versions ago, it may have improved, but I doubt it.

Not a fan of the genius thing. Partly because it's suggestions for music I might like is laughable (seriously, Take That????), but mainly because I prefer to just listen to albums

Exactly. Unless and absolute pish artist you should listen to albums. Its a story man.

Back when itunes first came out it was a great little app..now its like a bloated floater that you just cant flush down the bog.
