As Manu's income heads into the stratosphere, it's about time EFC got with the commercial programme.
Our TV money is determined by on field success. Until we are are more successful only our Matchday money, Other commercial revenues, debt or largesse can fund this. Our debt is at an end, no one is giving the club any money, so that leaves Matchday and Commercial. Commercial is also to a very large part driven by on field success ( not withstanding just how poor we are in our commercial dealings), which leaves Matchday revenue........so if the club announced that ticket prices would be the same as the team that finished one place above us for the last two seasons, what would be the response.......

Here's an idea, show all the Everton FC games live on EvertonTV. You could charge £5-10 a match.

Is that actually allowed though? Surely the club can sell the rights to the games just like the European games and pre season friendlies.

Harnessing the global power that is the Internet, to show games that could be watched live by millions across the globe is the way forward.

Can't believe no club has offered fans this. I mean in these computer times, why would I want to subscribe to a channel that shows so little of my teams games.

No, its not allowed. Its part of the contract with Sky, they hold all the rights thats why they paid so much. Imagine how people would cancel their Sky subscrtiptions if you could do that.

However, I have said all along that Evertons old and current board have been a major fault for not seeing the commercial side of the business. What bugs me is the pathetic miss of using Li Tie in the asian market to increase our external revenue streams, they went mad for Everton and the club did nothing. Remeber Arsenal buying the japenese lad just for his commercial rights, it made them a packet load for an £8million layout

Until then we have to chop and change with our expenditure, ie, cutting costs - and that means moving along the biggest earners.
January we lost Pienaar
June we sold Vaughan
August we sold Beckford, lost Arteta and finally shipped Yak out.
If those 5 players were on just £25k a week, we see a £125k a week saving, which is £6.5 million a year. Now consider how many of those 5 were actually on £25k a week.
As for other income lines, ManU have sold the rights to training shirt sponsorship. We simply need to sell to the corporate sector to see a significant turnover, and I dont want to hear how we cant sell current allocation because the current allocation is sh!te!

We're missing a trick in Asia and should get more support from Chang. Said this before but United have some kind of deal with Singha, Changs main rival, and there are Singha/United billboards all over Thailand. Why can't Chang do this for us? Even Leicester City are getting a bigger profile over there from their deal with King Power.

I disagree - Asia is overrun with Premier League teams all trying to find some fans who dont already support the ****e or United, and if Chang wanted to put that much effort into an advertizing campaign then they wouldnt be sponsoring us.

If we are talking commercial opportunities overseas, then we really should devote all our efforts to either the US (if we had managed to push the boat out for Donovan it would have considerably helped) or Australia, where the makeup of our squad can give us an advantage.

As for the ground, at the risk of repeating myself for the Nth time - we should recognize what we do have. Spending £100 million plus on a ground that will not be that much bigger than Goodison is, and which wont generate enough money to pay off the costs of building / operating the stadium and allow us to compete in the transfer market, is a policy that is doomed to failure. Of course, what we do have is one of the oldest purpose-built football stadia in the world, a ground with rich history and (most importantly) something which will become increasingly unique (and increasingly marketable) as everyone else follows the herd into the identical concrete boxes.
