Perversely, the National Guardsmen involved never faced a trial even though they'd been indited by a Grand Jury, but protesters from an earlier incident did.

When you call up what is essentially volunteers and ask them to stop a demonstration armed with rifles, shot guns and bayonets, you really are asking for trouble.
