i have actually researched into the whole period you know mate, not just plucking things out my arse. Looked and read through a lot of german literature from the time onwards as well, to look into the effects of the indocrination of the germans into the nazi way of thinking. Very interesting subject in actual fact.

But the last thing hitler done off his own back was invade russia. As soon as he gave that order and it went tits up the likes of goering/himmler and the like took control and tried to claw some sort of foothold back in the war whilst Hitler became more reclusive and lost grip on the reality of what was going on.
