Grew up on the island (in Cowes). It's alright if you like the things they offer, but it's much of a muchness. You know? Not a great deal of cultural diversity. There aren't a huge amount of jobs either. Those are the two main reasons I moved away, and wouldn't consider moving back there, despite the decent environment for cycling.

Heading down there later actually as I have a house there and need to check on the tenants.

Harcourt Sands mate, been their quite a few times to see old friends over the years. Used to drink in that Squaddie, gone now hasnt it
I've not been to Harcourt, went to Puckpool Park as a kid tho. I drove past the Squaddie last time I was back, it's been made into more of a nightclub, didn't catch the name.

In the main, and excellent little music festival.

A few dodgy years, but generally brilliant.

It's a pop festival these days really, the original festivals at Afton Farm were proper rock festivals. Before my time but 1970 must have been amazing, Hendrix, The Doors, The Who and Free were prob the headline acts.

It's more poppy these days. But you've got the Chillis headlining this year and I've been there with Foo Fighters and The Stones.

Oh yer still pulls the big headline acts because of its rep, gutted I couldn't go in 2012, missed Pearl Jam.

The festival tends to get acts that are kinda past their prime though don't they? I can't think of many of the really big names that have played there whilst in their prime.

Not at all mate. You get a really good mix.

This year for example has modern acts like Rudimental, The 1975, Katy B, Passenger, Tom Odell etc...

As well as big acts that will never leave like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Suede, Kings Of Leon etc...

It's a really decent mix and is most years I'd say.

I love it. I've never seen any trouble at this festival either.
