They (the French) don't care about what anyone else thinks. And for that they should be applauded.
As for the Hijab and whatever else, there are a lot of arguements both for and against and not being immersed in that culture (regardless of spin) discounts my opinion. Glad teachers are not allowed to wear them in class rooms here mind you.

They are absolutly right to ban it. Moderate Muslims, the ones that have the ability to fit in with Western civilization, dont believe you have to wear the burkah. It causes security risks and is a symbol that a woman is practically a slave. Muslims that are kicking off about this i.e non moderate Muslims, need to live somewhere where they Burkah's are part of society. Zis is ze facts.

'Fit in with Western Civilization' - Hmmm, surely Western society is built upon immigration and embracing values, ideas and attitudes from overseas that contribute to the rich tapestry of multiculturalism that so defines Great Britain at the very least.
Personally I don't like the politics surrounding the full face veil, specifically the extremist for and extremist against sides, I see merit and objection to it. That this topic can be discussed at all is an indication of the freedoms such choices are built upon.

The Burkah is NOT nessessary in Islam. And shouldnt be tolerated for the reasons I have JUST stated. Dont give me all that ****e. Yes what makes Britain great is that we are democratic, we dont turn our back on fellow man, and we do embrace different ideas and attitudes. UP TO A POINT. We are getting taken the piss out of. Big time. European countries rip us for allowing groups of Muslims to come and do what they want, say what they want, and cause trouble whenever they want. We're an easy target because when it comes to immigration laws, we are absolute mugs. The face veil is not British, nor is it nessessarily Islam. It oppresses woman, and has NO place in our society. There is nothing you can say to change this, no matter how afraid of being called racist you are.
