Ok ill admit it , i have got nearly all the films out at the moment from the last few years... and many that are not even out in the Uk yet..
But the thing is , although i watch the copies, i also tend to go to the cinema to watch the big films... and even purchase the films that are good on DVD.
I mean.. i understand that the smaller production teams may struggle because they wont have the same market audience, but at the same time.. to be honest i download a lot of films that if i wasnt able to, i would never have purchased them, and probably not have even hired them from the video shop !!
By this it enables me to watch the smaller and non box office films, see if they are good and then maybe purchase them !!
Although i do think some people just download films and nothing else, i do think a lot of people still go to the cinema if the film is good and use it to watch it again, and again and again !!
Its the same with games (although im not as well behaved with these).. I downloaded Shrek 3 / surfs up and a few others for the mrs (now ex) and i certainly wouldnt have purchased them if i couldnt have downloaded them, because i know how bad film spin offs tend to be ... too my shock surfs up was actually ok, and she has played it quite a bit, but shrek 3 was as bad as expected
Also games i have downloaded and tried out i tend to see how good they are for a while... and then purchase to get the extra modes (like online because of the key code)...
So for me i think getting copied software, although a tetchy subject, can help smaller less well known companies getting people purchasing their software.
what do you think??
