Is our squad good enough?

I'm not convinced that our first choice eleven (and squad) is anywhere near good enough.

Granted we might have deserved around 8 to 10 points from the performances last season only to waste the leads (particularly Chelsea and Bournemouth away and West Ham home) but I'm not convinced by the present squad.

Almost from 1 to 11 I'd be happy to see a clean sweep - certainly in the next 12 months. There are cases to argue for Coleman, Baines, Barkley and perhaps Lukaku (if willing) or Stones (if willing) but none are totally compelling.

It's hard to argue that almost all the established players haven't regressed in our last two seasons (yes I know a fair share of this is Roberto's fault)

theyve had it too good for far too long. good salaries with little expectaton in return. hopefully moshri will change this but im still on the fence

Depends what we are aiming for.

The current lot finished 10th and 11th last two seasons, so that clears that quandary up.

It's quite capable, with a few additions it's a top 5 squad. A few more and top 4. But if we're talking about a title contender, only players I'd keep would be Rom, Ross, Baines, Coleman, Geri

If we went into the season with the squad as it is I am quite certain we'd finish around 10th/11th.

Hopefully we can make the signings needed to take us to the next level and beyond.

Leicester won the league with Danny Simpson and wes Morgan starting most games.

Wales got the semis of the euros with Robson kanu and Chris Gunter.

It's not always about the players ability(does help). A new innovative system and happy players can make you go far.

I go for a 2-1-5-1-1 with loads of strippers before the game. Only play back heeled through balls and we could win this league.

In all seriousness. A manager who can tactically change it when needed and players who believe in it is more important for me.
