Is it just South Africa?

So I've been reading a lot about teacher strikes and such on here, so no I want to talk about South African strikes...
There's a major strike at least once a month. The people always want more money.
(I'll post a few links when I get home).
The logic behind our strikes:
"We want more money, let's destroy everything in our path"

So is it only South Africa that argues this way?

The most recent strike we had was by the people who drive trucks.
They want more money - so they threw bombs at the trucks, burned cars and stopped traffic for about a week.

Are they being logical?
Or is it just me that says that they're idiots.

We do have strikes here, but not at that frequency.

Without wishing to start a political barney, if we did The co-alition wouldn't last 5 minutes.

That said, I'm not a fan of striking. Sometimes you come off worse. You mention 'let's destroy all in our path'. It doesn't get like that here really, but then that's here and now - simply look at the miners strike in '84.

change the word 'striking' for 'going to the dentist', 'going to a mechanic', 'falling in love', 'going to the match' or 'shopping at Lidl' and the sentence still makes sense.
