Is it ever acceptable to microwave bacon. I myself (who, before entering the medical world, had limited chef training) claim this is wrong and an affront to the pigs that have given their lives so we may eat like kings.

My sister on the other had (who can only cook fried eggs and instant coffee but consumes neither), says it’s fine.

I love her dearly but I claim she is a heathen.

Surely microwaving bacon, wrong anyway, would make a proper mess of the inside of the appliance anyway so why bother

Use to do it all the time have no idea why. I'd place 3 strips over the back of an upside down bowl to ensure it cooked properly. Don't eat pork anymore and maybe that explains it. I do miss a cooked spam butty tho

Grilling is still the way forward with bacon.

There was a woman on radio recently though who was championing microwaving and had cook books etc on microwave recipes. Was suggesting we don’t use them near enough as we should for all different types of food.

I stayed over at a friend's house after a night out some years back.

In the morning he made me a fry up entirely using the microwave.

I told him I was too hungover to eat it.

I have rarely seen him since.
