A lot of you fellas are of a socialist persuasion so you must be happy that Hollande is in the hot seat?

Personally I'd be scared witless if I were French and it's perhaps no surprise that so many are planning to decamp to London as soon as possible.

Oh god have France gone Lefty?

I quite liked the no bull**** guy they had last time.

Not that I really know much about what he did or didn't do.

If he gives us some inside info on football transfers would that be 'une sauce hollandaise'???

Seriously tho, unlike some on here I don't mind the french, plus their women are hot, so no probs with more over here. Lots of banking business coming over too, with offices and french bank's branches over here. Wishful thinking that that would mean cheap Euros!! :)

Should think the future of the Euro itself must be under some doubt. The Germans are the only ones that really saved for a rainy day and if I were them I'd be mightily pissed off at Greece, but even more so France who think they have a say despite being financially up the creek.

i do believe with the current situation in Greece and to a lesser extent France we are seeing the decline of the single currency, Germany wont prop up the economy by themselves.

does this mean he`ll save the stock-market gamblers with taxpayers money or no?

So they would have to reintroduce local currencies?? I remember a few years ago in France still seeing prices marked in Francs. Is that still going on there and other countries around Europe?

I dont understand the analogy, 'real time petri dish' ?
That the thinly veiled right wing did so well in the elections initially is a sign that parts of europe have a simmering racist undercurrent currently finding it easy to score cheap points of blaming immigration for all of lifes woes.
As for their financial elite potentially upping sticks and having a soirée in and around London, it is exactly the plan by the current lot shafting the less well off to attract the big earners and have them pay a token tax here than have all the Brit based elite bugger off elsewhere for better taxation protection.
As for Germany and the Greeks, well, there are a million ways to skin a cat and being able to lean on someones neighbours financially to make import and export difficult and expensive is a 'trade war' the Greeks simply wont win. Ever.

Can anybody give me a brief explanation as to what's going on and what implications will come into effect as a result? I don't understand all this political stuff :(

Basically france are going to be as politcally correct and tolerate all kinds of **** like we do. Here, come to the country. Here's a 5 bed detached house payed for with taxpayers money. It would be racist otherwise...

Unluckers france.
