Is Felliani improving?

I'm starting to really like this Gibson-Fellani partnership. Gibson has been rather anomonyous however in a way that's a good thing. He's staying out of Fellani's way and letting him do his thing in the defensive end. Arteta and Fellani kept on getting in each other's way and it hurt both of their games.

Right now Fellani is the best DM in the prem by a wide margin. He's back to his form from a couple years ago.

Since I can't point to any specific moments to back it up, I hadn't said anything, but I've been thinking the same thing. The insertion of Gibson seems to have helped Fellaini fit into his role even better. I don't know how or why, because there is little on the ball that I can point to, so I don't know if it is gibsons positioning, communication, consistency, etc; but it does seem that the two of the together has created a solid defensive midfield where Fellaini is the on ball superstar, and Gibson is easily forgotten. But the combination seems to be working.

Agreed. The galvanizing effect Gibson's presence seems to have on Fellaini's game justifies the former's inclusion in the side. It leaves Rodwell in an awkward spot when he returns from injury. Would be interesting to see him played in the advanced role ahead of Fellaini and Gibson.

Sadly you can't play the way that Fellani does and not get injured/knacked at some point during the season. There will always be plenty of matches for Rodwell.

I'd like to see that, like with England, Jack semed to enjoy that position.
