I lived there very briefly in the 80's when I was a kid and my memories of it are that it was one seriously grim place which had been massively neglected. I've got to go back there next week for a few days to help sort out my uncles house who passed away recently and am wondering what to expect ? Is it still super grim or has it improved since the late 80's when I was last there ?

Well I went down to the Asda today and it was cordoned off as someone attacked it with a machete at 11am so....

The town centre is a bit desolate these days, Birkenhead Park is boss though and you are only 5-10 minutes away from the rest of the Wirral Peninsula which is nice and scenic.

my Dad worked over the water last year and got bollocked by his firm for not having wet paints signs in Arabic, thought he was taking the piss.
