Would they let him go if they could double their money on him? £14m for a 22 year old Belgian international with a scoring rate of better than 1 in 2 for the last couple of seasons would still be good value. And at 6 ft 3 we wouldn't have to rely on Fellaini so much for an aerial threat.

Spurs might fancy him but they've been chasing Damiao for a long time and Adebayor has form for refusing to budge. Arsenal might be interested too although Wenger could prefer to stick with Giroud. If he is available he could form a bruising partnership with Anichebe. And it would be great to see Benteke playing alongside Fellaini and Mirallas.

As long as none of the big-spenders enter the running I think we could just as feasibly sign him as Negredo.
