Yeah, dunno why everyone is so eager to give credit to Houllier. That was a crap squad benitez inherited.

The squad mourinho left him had just won the treble and he gashed that up, is THAT the sign of a good manager? he took Liverpool through their worst run in how many years in his last season, then tried to sell one of the best midfielders in the world to buy Gareth Barry FFS. Liverpool fans were turning on him towards the end, but this is amazingly forgotten by them too...

Plus if he was 'that' good, he wouldn't be 'interim'.
