Not that we need one but there’s been talk of 3 at the back lately. What do you think? Dont fix what isn’t broken or the final piece in what looks like a very sexy jigsaw? It might be something like this in a 343

Pickford
Keane Mina Zouma
Coleman Gueye Gomes Digne
Lookman Gylfi Richarlison

It always looks better on paper than what actually transpires on the pitch. You get absolutely destroyed down the wings against attacking teams with 3 at the back. I'd rather 4 and let the players battle it out for 2 positions which keeps them on their toes.

It’d be madness. Competition for places is a good thing; we shouldn’t be aiming to placate players by changing formation.

Also, re your XI, I don’t think Gueye is required in a 3CB formation. If he is, we’re doing it wrong...

No.

Maybe a change to it to see out games we want to protect what we got (like with Jags coming on against Chelsea) but we should not be sacrifcing our very good attack for more defence at match start.

The thing is, a back three doesn't have to be a defensive change. It actually allows the other seven players to push up the pitch.

I don't think we'll be switching to one too much, but it's great to have the option.

No Bernard , no way

Silva predominantly plays 4/3/3 and the players he has bought so far are suited to that system
3 at the back will be s rarity rather than the norm
