Gary Caldwell has been holding a news conference after being appointed as Wigan manager to replace Malky Mackay.

"I want to get the belief back into the players," said the Scot. "I am not silly enough to think that playing nice football every week and losing is a good thing. You are judged on results.

"Managers Gordon Strachan and Roberto Martinez were massive influences on me but I have to be myself."

Anyone else find this ridiculously ironic?
