I'm going to make my statement right here and now.

I like the iPhone, it does what I need. Unless a phone can give me multiple orgasms and sign quality players for Everton, then I am happy with this.

Everyone else who is happy with their electrical devices is all that matters.

Thanks, and goodbye.

Your not getting away that easy (y)

In all seriousness though, I do like the look of the new iphone. I seen an application for Twitter on it, showing the location of your followers. I was impressed.

I think I am put off by the name of HTC Hero. Sounds a little pretentious to me, but I'm never going to try one so it's pointless me having a balanced debate about them.

The new iPhone may be unleashed tomorrow at the Apple event, but they have some iSlate, which is like a touch screen computer that you can carry around like a laptop. The corporate junkies will love it. Me I'm waiting for the moment I can replicate Tom Cruise in the Minority Report.

Demons went out the door about 5 threads back, it's all about the sweetness and light from here on in.

I'm betting the iPhone is more aerodynamic...anyone care to send me one of each so I can test the theory? I promise to throw as hard as I can...probably go for the underhand technique, like skippin' rocks on the river.

Mobiles...[Poor language removed] 'em all!

For me it comes down to this, I've used winmo for years and I liked it. The annoyance with the platform always boiled down to the way the browser rendered web pages, the iPhone has it licked, and the inability to upgrade the phone going forward. More often than not the phones are locked into a carriers firmware, which means if you want the latest swanky OS, start learning how to jailbreak or buy a new phone

iPhone is a phone you can have for three years and still feel like your'e on the latest and greatest. I have a first gen iPhone and I'm only about to upgrade because I've dropped it so many times the screen if buggered and I now have some water damage, which affects the sound. With winmo devices, they either broke pretty regularly or I needed to buy a new one to get the latest OS on there. Never actually had one that made it past the two year mark.

I also worked for o2 for a stint in the business to business division, and it's well known the build quality of the winmo devices are not the best, and it's generally accepted that they are more likely to develop software issues. Internally, our devices only came with a 6 month warranty. This meant if your device went caput, a new device had to be funded out of the budget instead of it being a straight replacement.

Now having said that, if you're looking at a 12 month contract, or if you get the device when it's brand spanking new and just out on an 18 month contract, I don't see there being many pitfalls in getting the HTC device.

The iPhone will always have a higher resale value too, which might be important to some.

You can also use the grossly over priced, yet highly useful, mobile me product on an iPhone.

It's an android operating system mate.

I'll be honest why I bought mine, I considered the iphone but came down to it being half the price, all the same specs and not having my music locked by itunes etc.

Each to their own, if you're happy with yours then sound. Even if iphone users are bad blerts and get them out for any excuse in the pub.

Does your android speak 100,000 different dialects and has intense experience of the Nanoon system? Can it shut down major space stations?

Look at the Nexus One....the latest HTC set than runs the latest Android OS. The great thing about Android is it's open-sourcedness.....hell you are even going to be able to upgrade the G1 to the latest Android release.

If you wanna stick with WinMo, then the HTC HD2 is the beast to dance with. 1Ghz processor, destroys all other phone benchmarks.

The iPhone is neat, I just don't like the restrictions that come with using it.
