I'm a fan of making time lapse video's at the moment, so the Miniatures app is really good on the iPhone, guessing it's available on the iPad. Obviously you can make less boring ones than this.

Especially if you're making videos you should really go for the retina display on the 3. The 2 holds its value pretty well -- even used you're probably only going to save a hundred and fifty or so from the 3 and the retina display is really worth the extra cash.

right, despite my loathing of apple and their 'ways' I've just humped near 500 notes on an ipad3 for the Mrs (starts new job Monday after 9mths off for mat leave)
So, what are the essential apps I/She should get? Any advice from you nerdz would be greatly appreciated. Ta.
