No, not position of the month chaps, sorry.

I'm talking about adverts, particularly baby adverts, that talk about 'what's best for baby is best for mum' (incidentally, I cannot abide the use of the term 'baby' in this context, makes me cringe). The blatant insinuation that Dad is not really a proper parent, and in most of the these adverts, is portrays as some bumbling chump who doesn't know the difference between a nappy and a potato.

This whinge was prompted by an RT I saw this morning from some online parenting channel which proclaimed 'Calling all Mums! Have your say on the latest parenting issues'.

Chap I know, his wife died leaving him to raise two daughters aged 4, and 6 months old. Sure he loves how he's portrays in the adverts.

Gillete....the best a man can get
Yorkie....it's not for girls
Bet365.......Ava bang on tha you mag cant blokey barstard.

Agree on the latter two, but the first one does design razors for both men and women and has adverts accordingly, both of which are complimentary to the target sex. Can't really say their adverts are sexist.

I honestly couldn't be arsed how they portray fathers in adverts, I run for the hills when I realise that the baby has filled his nappy, I even drop a little hint on my way out of the room that he may have done it so my mrs knows and I then come up with some fictional job that needs doing.

I can't think of another bloke I know that would give a toss about being portrayed as a buffoon when it comes to childcare, because in a large number of cases we are. It's just another thing to get wound up about for no apparent reason.

I'm more concerned about the quality of adverts, I'm half tempted to start a campaign of boycotting products and services with jarg/annoying adverts. Adverts with really bad voiceovers as well, them products boycotted as well.

Amigo adverts ( Especially the radio adverts )
Vanarama radio advert is a bad one
That annoying jingle on the AXA advert ( Little things mean a lot!!!!! )

If we unite, we can rid the world of jarg adverts people.

“So why aren’t you surfing on a cab, going to visit your mad Dad, or shopping for some trousers, when it starts snowing on your schnauzers, while Hive is busy controlling your heating at home”.
