Just joined I'm a Scots based supporter up in Inverness so don't get to see too many matches unfortunately. My G/Uncle played for Celtic then Everton back in the 1930s hence the name choice. Very proud he won trophies with both clubs, played in both derbies and lined up with the legendary Dixie Dean.

Hoping to get down to a few games when my finances allow so thought joining the forum would give me a heads up on any scots based supporters who travel down together.

Cheers for now

That is ace.

Welcome lid.

Thanks BB. Yes Billy Cook was born in Coleraine in 1909 & was signed by Celtic from Port Glasgow Juniors. He picked up a SFAC winners medal in his first season at Parkhead. Everton paid £3k for his services in 1932 & he played in the cup winning team v Man City then picked up a Championship medal with over 200 appearances for us. He played in the OF game when Celtic goalkeeper John Thomson died as a result of a 50/50 challenge with Rangers striker Sam English. Billy was reportedly the nearest player as a full back to the incident that day. Ironically he played with English in the Northern Ireland national team.

Welcome mate. My dad is a massive Celtic fan, as was my grandad. I've always been particularly keen on them, but Everton has been a passion that has truly ignited in recent years.

Glad to have you aboard. Have fun!
