Interview with Xavi

I would love to see Barca play in a more "Balanced" League..

Andy Gray made the "Controversial" comments that Messi wouldn't be as good in the prem do to his size and physicality, which I agree..

La Liga is a two horse race..

I'm not saying Barca wouldn't do good in the prem, I'm just saying I would like to see it.

In England, footballers are respected more, the game is more noble, there's less cheating. Every Spaniard who goes loves it – and comes back a better player. If I had ever left it would have been to England.

Interesting eh?

Not this lot again.

Have you ever heard such self-preening bull**** as this?;

[On Barca] "Football is played to win but our satisfaction is double. Other teams win and they're happy, but it's not the same. The identity is lacking."

Do me a favour lad. Go and boil your ****ing head will you, you arrogant dwarf.

Great read, cheers Bruce! Wonder who's worst at "piggy in the middle" at everton.

I bet Phil Neville is, just saying like

Fantastic interview.

Found this quite fascinating...

Maybe it's the culture, I don't know, but in England you're warriors. You watch Liverpool and Carragher wins the ball and boots it into the stands and the fans applaud. There's a roar! They'd never applaud that here.

Is there anything that doesn't make you rage, mate?

If ever there was a club - apart from Liverpool FC - that "insists upon itself", it's Barca. "More than a club"? That could be said of any club on earth. "Purist footballing style"? Wasn't that Everton in the 1960s? "Everyone's second team"? Not mine, that's for sure.

To me, they have a trashy fanbase with a huge chip on each shoulder. Turning the sprinklers on against Inter, that said it all about their class.

It's the way the media fawn all over them. "Tell us Xavi, why are we English such savages and you and your team mates have been touched by the Gods?"

FFS, I feel embarrassed for that journalist. Some of the questions were arse licking stuff.

As far as Xavi's words that I quoted are concerned: what football club doesn't have identity? He's saying there that other clubs playing and winning don't count as much because they 'dont have identity'...they're not the same. Well. he's half right actually - they're not the same as Barca with their overblown self-importance and their army of propaganda foot soldiers telling them how great they are...most other clubs just get on with their own history and match playing and dont bore the arse off everyone else with it.

Spot on mate. Catalonian Kopites.

I particularly loved this quote.

Its the culture. In Spain when say Davi Alves gets tackled *winks* and flies to the turf clutching his face and stays on the pitch for minutes in order to get the opponent sent off, that's applauded. I don't understand the lack of apprication for fine acting in England. Also the crowds in Spain give us more of a home field advantage. Nothing gets a black man on the opposing club off his game like the sweet sweet sound of 80K+ supporters making gorilla noises.
