Sat here with Broadband Speed Test checking every minute or so the connection speed..

Keeps jumping from 16-18mb down to barely 0.2mb.. Really difficult connecting to anything. Typical weekend throttling no doubt by Sky.

Are there any programs that can monitor your connection speed instead of me doing it manually with Broadband Speed Check??

Set fire to it, let me know how hot it gets and there is your answer mate.

Get your missus to do it mate. She wont be getting up for the next hour after ive just seen to it. Throttling all over the shop.

Unplug the microfilter and phone line and pop them in your arsehole. The speed test info will download direct to your bowel and you can then take a trip to Sky's office and dump the information on their doorstep.

Check the contract of the deal you singed up with. If you're on "unlimited" then it's more than likely they have slipped in that they can dictate the speed to you during certain hours. Never sign up to that crap.

More likely your ISP oversells its bandwidth, and now no-one is at work, and everyone is home on holiday there simply isn't enough bandwidth to do around.

Not really, as to check your bandwidth, you have to upload and download. That would further increase the problem by using up your bandwidth even more (plus if you have a data cap, doing that is a nice quick way to blast through it)

I've been getting that issue, really annoying, I'm going to replace my router, get a BT I-Plate and switch provider when I get around to it.

I'd try to find a reliable broadband speed test site as well because the results vary widely.
