Internet Problems

Can anyone help me with my internet issues please? I live in a shared house and the Internet is connected straight from the wall to the pc via a cable, but for some reason it has just stopped working. Normally plugging into the wall is a reliable signal, i have tried to fix to no avial and need some help please as im not too up on this sort of stuff, thanks.

Try putting the router in sawdust, or rice.

Check the wire leading to your house mate.

Had the same about this time last year. The whole thing needed replacing outside my house.

Do you have access to the router? 99 times out of 100 rebooting will sort it.

Have you tried unplugging it and from the mains for 45 seconds and then use the sawdust ?

Phone company could be messing around at the local exchange box.

Yeah i know where it is, it's up in the loft for some reason, i can go and reboot it, i will certainly try, thanks.

Yeah i know where it is, it's up in the loft for some reason, i can go and reboot it, i will certainly try, thanks.

It's usually the problem, you're supposed to reboot about once a month but nobody ever does.
