Player Valuation: £70m
England will entertain Holland in an international match at Wembley on the Wednesday before the Premiership campaign commences. Who on earth sets this schedule when surely the players need to be with their respective clubs for that first game and not to be risked of injury. With our luck you can just imagine us losing Jags and Baines for the first 3 months and you all know the rest

Is that the Wednesday between the Charity Shield and the Opening weekend then? It seems a ridiculous idea to have an international break then, why not just leave it a few weeks or have it a few weeks earlier?

FA trying to drum up more money.

yeah it never changes England play some Game just for the sake of it a few days before the prem season starts,we will then play about 4 premier league games then have a 2 week rest for another England game, like most will be hoping none off our players get injured no matter what the international team they are playing for that night.

God almighty how retarded is that?!

I can see Jags and Johnny H going in hard on each other and both being ruled out for the season.

THIS. also the clubs with a bit of weight with the FA and other international teams will get off playing anyone in these games

Defo.

While Jags and Baines will be booted up ready to play out of pure naivety - Rio, Cole, Terry, Rooney et all will have "slight" groin problems and will put their feet up.

And we'll get smashed by the dutch and everyone will say how **** the national side is without its named players, no one is good enough etc

I wonder if Johnny on the spot will be playing for Holland?

Probably.

Probably won't be playing for Everton by then so who cares.

Anyway, this is a fantastic idea, the FA always get these things spot on. Go team Ingerland! Melts.

I wonder if England had a game coming up like Switzerland this week, what would the hierarchy say if Everton organised a friendly three days before?
