Has anyone done the west highland way? despite living at the end of it for 25 years I have never done it, but me and the wife decided we are going to do in July next year for our 50th

I used to walk home from town on a Saturday night, years ago.

Past the tunnel entrance, down Scotland road, up Kirkdale road, past Goodison park, down Walton Hall Avenue, and home.

God knows how I survived.

That's a great idea. Is it a recognised walk or did you just decide to do it?
It's more designed for pub crawls mate but us southerners can't drink though ;) but the sites are great, that said I swerve the old kent road. To be honest I work in London twice a week and tend to walk more in the Spring or Autumn

Started walking THE LOOP yesterday. Stage 1 is actually quite near us - Erith to Bexley but following the Thames and Darent rivers, so not as short as it might sound if you know Kent - but we met a couple of retired teachers who had travelled from Buckinghamshire to continue where they left off.

Working on the Colorado Trail - 489 miles from Denver to Durango - in sections and bits. This last Sunday was Section 7 - 13 miles from Breckenridge over to Copper Mountain. Pass takes you up over 12,000 feet. Rain, sleet and wind, with no chance of a view off the top due to the weather, but a grand adventure nevertheless. Few photos that you should be able to click on for larger view.
