Interesting Summer Ahead? The Summer of 2013

With Ferguson's retirement, a new era of the English League will be written from next season. Personally i rate him as the best manager who's ever lived, without doubt the best British one.

Firstly it will be very interesting to see how United will cope without him. I think Moyes will do OK there, but boy does he have a reputation to live up to. Many would share the conception that you can't really fail at United, but you look at their current squad and it's not great from where I'm standing. I'm not too sure any other manager would have won the league and especially not so comfortably with that squad, than Ferguson.

Anyway, yeah, United seem to beat a lot of teams before they've stepped out onto the pitch and Ferguson just created teams that knew how to win no matter what. Even if they had 4/5 star players injured, played their reserves or their kids in a European Group Stage - Fergie knew how to get them to win and was always brave to make subs at the same time. From this last season, it seems Moyes doesn't have that in his locker. Will he or any other Man United Manager be able to carry or install that win at all costs attitude that Fergie brought to the club, it will certainly to see if they'll be feared anywhere near as much in 3 or 4 years.

As well as a new era at United, it will be a new era for us Toffees, but we have a designated section on this forum for that so i'll swerve it. Also relevant to this summer, but not a new era because it happens every summer; there will be a new boss at Chelsea, surely they'll challenge for the title next season with that squad, especially if Jose Returns. Who else will go? New Boss at City as well? Top 3 all with new coaches would be interesting.

This summer will probably see some massive transfers (and i don't just mean the fees). Teams will have ridiculous sums of income from the TV Deal, but also we'll probably see big names leaving their clubs all over the shop.

Of these, it wouldn't be too surprising to see all of Bale, Suarez, Fellaini, Rooney and Lampard leave their respective clubs, will this mean a more tightly contested Premier League between the top 7? Hopefully, i'm sure i'm not the only one to be disappointed with the lack of action this season has provided.

Could be a good one lids, so make sure you're suited up on the couch watching Jim White

I am waiting to see what Arsenal will do, Wenger has said they have money to spend. I am hoping to see a few surprises and would not be shocked to see Fabregas returning to play for them if he is still unhappy in Barcelona and then their is David Villa who could also be on his way out but to where I don't know.

United- The supporters seem underwhelmed by Moyes' appointment so maybe the players will feel the same way? He's going to need to adjust his style because not losing games won't be enough. There could be a transitional period and they might dip.

City- They had a poor transfer window last summer. They're going to have to improve the starting eleven this time round with major signings. They'll also want to be much better equipped for the CL.

Chelsea- Can Mourinho make it work second time around? Losing Lampard could be a much bigger blow than they realise and, if Mata's performance level dips, they might not do as well as they expect.

Arsenal- Wenger still needs to sort out his defence. They're probably only a couple of players away from having a very good side though.

Spurs- Will Bale stay or go? They definitely need strengthening in a few areas and they could lose ground next year if they're not careful.

Everton- Very difficult to tell at this stage. There is likely to be money available. If we can carry on as we are and add a striker and creative midfielder we could give Spurs a run for their money.

Liverpool- They're getting the nucleus of a decent team together. Much of their success will depend on Saurez and how the younger players develop.

still think arsenal are more than a couple of players away. Nobody fears them like they use too, too many players who turn up every now and then. Apart from cazorola, you wouldn't say any of them are guaranteed to give you 9 good games out of 10, they're more 6 and 7's.

Liverpool will be gash next season if they sell suarez. I know the stats will suggest otherwise, but those stats also said we were more successfull with neville in our team. He's single handedly carried them to the giddy heights of 7th, they wouldn't be able to attract his calibre with the money from his sale. Just be stuck picking up chelsea and inter rejects.

same to a lesser extent for spurs i feel. Surely bale will be gone, he's obviously too good for them

If its true - as was claimed in this weeks Revista - that David Villa is off to either Spurs or Arsenal this summer, they would have to be candidates for winning something. Likewise if its also true that Reina is off to Barcelona, I cant see the ****e finishing top four unless they have someone boss - lets face it we all know its going to be Vorm - lined up as a replacement, even if Suarez stays*.

* of course we all know he will get a multiple game ban for something next season, probably shooting up with a cocktail of heroin, speed, EPO, monkey gland juices and dog placenta in the centre circle which as we all know is a traditional craft in Uruguay.

Love the use of 'bump my own thread' here.

i put a lot of effort it, feck was i going to see it burn into oblivion after 5 replies! haha, nah seriously, i had to reply to billy's post, forgot about the thread tbh.

have no idea why barca would go for reina, if they have done any scouting they'll realise he's absolute garbage and has been for some while.surely better options out there, would be funny to see them go for casillas. Anyway, i'm happy for the RS to stick with that clown. Vorm's too good for them, would love him here
