I did one late last year. The course itself was good, although I did have prior experience and wasn’t learning from scratch.
The downside was that I already had a test booked, which they made me move to the test centre closest to their office; that particular centre is known to be a tough one and has the lowest pass rate in Birmingham.
As part of the course fee, the instructor you did the course with is supposed to be the one who takes you for your test. Despite knowing my test date, they gave me an instructor who would be on holiday for my test date. So the week before the test was stressful because they couldn’t find anyone to take me, only managing to get someone at the 11th hour. It also meant taking the test in a car I’d never driven before. I failed, which is obviously on me, but the build up to the test being a nightmare didn’t help.
The whole system is broken at the minute tbh. If you can get a course for a reasonable price (and make sure the instructor will be available for the test) then it might be worth doing.
