Does making a claim on your insurance for an accident that isn't your fault affect your no claims bonus? I thought it was just if you were the person at fault, or is that just the case for paying your excess? I'm such a philistine.

Annoyingly I noticed a bit of a scratch at the rear of the drivers side of my car today, it makes me fume that people drive off not giving a [Poor language removed], it's happened to all of the cars I've had to a degree.

Somebody took the whole nearside wing off my Honda 4x4 in a superstore car park and drove off.... amazingly nobody saw a thing and it cost me £1400 to get it repaired..... also 2 weeks ago somebody has put a huge scratch and dent into the nearside back door and skirt of my peugot 307 whilst pulling into the parking bay next to me in Tesco.... annoyingly they again have driven off..... it so pisses me off that people do this type of thing.

She's bang out of order, hence she tried to do a runner. Surely for that reason alone she deserves both a hike in her insurance and a nice few points and a fine(driving without due care and failing to report an accident). Also I have no doubt if the roles were reversed she probably would do the same to you.

leave a bigger gap.

it affects your insurance if the other doesn't have any or doesn't report it.

The insurance may well write it off mate, if it needs any paint then the painters insist on doing half the car to blend it in, that £220 will be way more and they'll deem it not worth fixing. My mrs 206 only needed a new wing, I got a 2nd hand one and put it on for about £45 as the insurance were gonna write the car off, cos of the spray painting cost basically, and they were gonna get the cost of the vehicle back through increased premiums after about 3 years.

Yeah, it's about £1000 to respray an average size car, so £500 for half of it, they may, as reidy said, write it off. If you can repair it yourself you'll save a small fortune in the long run

Your law is an arse. If this was reported over here mate she would get a major £1000 fine, a complimentary ban and re-sit her driving test.

This is assuming she was found. No CCTV, wrong phone number, I wonder if she's uninsured actually
