India mens attitude towards women

India's a very big country, Just to put it into perspective:

Adjusted for population growth over time, the annual rape rate in India has increased from 1.9 to 2.0 per 100,000 people over 2008-2012 period. This compares to a reported rape rate of 1.2 per 100,000 in Japan, 3.6 per 100,000 in Morocco, 4.6 rapes per 100,000 in Bahrain, 12.3 per 100,000 in Mexico, 24.1 per 100,000 in United Kingdom, 28.6 per 100,000 in United States, 66.5 per 100,000 in Sweden, and world's highest rate of 114.9 rapes per 100,000 in South Africa.

almost half of UK men between the age of 18 and 25 do not consider it rape to force a woman who has changed her mind to continue sex. Almost 1 in 4 men claimed that it wasn't rape even if a woman had said "no" at the start. A further 1 in 4 would try to have sex with someone they knew was unwilling. 5% would attempt to have sex if the woman was asleep and 6% if she were drunk.

Could you amend the link in your post to say South Africa rather than UK please lid as it's misleading.

Also wikipedia is hardly a trusted source.

A country that contains 1/6 of the worlds people, two horrible unforgivable crimes have been committed there and you have posted the articles, What is the relation between this and how the other 650 million men treat women?

for all I know India could be an incredibly misogynist place but what do these 2 crimes have to do it with it?

They're noteworthy because of their immediacy in date to each other and because of the details of the two cases. Unfortunately, the lack of respect afforded to women in that part of the world is constant and whilst it's true that attitudes towards women in other parts of the world, including the west, is sad they very rarely lead to such cases as these.

Having been to india many times I have to admit its not the safest places for women to be,men just seem to stare at women like theve never saw one before and it made me very uneasy when I've been with the missus, wounderful country but don't stay out after dark I say and what overseas women are going there on their own is beyond me.

"Reported".

Most who are don't report it, and if they do it's probably swept under the table.

Not that there isn't some stereotyping here like.
