In which I make a case for Yanks to cheer for Mexico later tonight

Okay, hear me out. I don't like Mexico as much as the next USMNT supporter, but for Milwaukee in particular we've got s*** on the line that depends on Mexico making it to the World Cup.

Behold:

One of the soccer bars in town is planning to make what they're calling the World Cup Village in an undeveloped lot near downtown Milwaukee for the duration of the 2014 World Cup. Futsal courts, beer garden, stage for live music and other events. It's going to be awesome. The municipality has given it approval already, even.

The problem? They're probably not going to do it if Mexico doesn't make the World Cup. They'd lose too many fans for it to be profitable, is the fear.

So please, and I can't believe I'm saying this, I hope Mexico wins tonight and (eventually) makes it to the World Cup. I want this to happen. Please.

....Go Mexico.....
