In this thread, we moan about people's inability to correctly punctuate thread titles.

There you go lid, save these and use them to correct poor grammar in the future.

Where does everyone stand on the Oxford comma?

I don't like using it but it's my sentences look sloppy without it.

Possibly? It's not a proper noun, so doesn't need a capital for that reason but it is common for some words in titles to have capitals, depending on the media. For consistency, I would also have had to use capitals for most of the other words in that case.

bacK in the day I was taught that a proper noun was... a person, place or thing
So Thread being a thing ( well a number of different things ) is a proper noun so is capitalised.

no idea what an improper noun is though.

Also word like to-day and to-morrow where hyphenated, well in English they were, what happened there...where's Lynn Truss when you need her

Hyphens seem to be slowly disappearing from written English. I'm not sure why that is.

Nouns are still taught as, 'a person, a place or a thing.' Proper nouns are always capitalised, they are the names of specific, individual nouns. For example, dog is a noun but Rover is the dog's name and needs a capital.
