Indeed. Comet Ison, from the 3rd of December - as long as it survives passing through the Sun's corona.

So why is this comet only visible from the Northern Hemisphere if it is passing through the Sun's corona? We get to see the sun in the Southern hemisphere, so why won't we see the comet? I understand some stars can only be visible from one hemisphere (North star, Southern Cross etc), but if this thing is passing the sun, then I should be able to see it.
