The Moyes is Back in Town
This will be probably get closed down. everyone that's making accusations of ticket fixing towards the club are actually missing the point. the official Everton twitter feed posted early this week that we had to send back about 700 tickets as the council deemed the obstructed views in the anfield road unsafe as it didn't pass it's safety license.

Sorry for makng another thread. Close it if ya need to mods

Sounds like a blag to me.

Could you post a link or even some quoted evidence to back this up? Otherwise yes, it will be closed as pure speculation.

As for the other threads, and 'fix' claims, why is it so hard for people to believe that the derby has sold out? We're playing great football, and have a chance to beat the reds on their own turf for the first time in years - I wanna see it but can't get a ticket - but I'm not gonna shout "fixed" just out of jealousy or sour grapes and frustration.

I think it's because it sold out on 8 aways which is almost every away played and I wouldn't have thought 2000 people have been to every single away so far.

All the supporters clubs get most of the tickets anyway. Something needs to be looked into there because people are going the match just because they 'know someone who can get them a ticket'. Not fair on the people who go to home and whatever away they get the chance to.

(I've not thought about it until this thread was made, not something I'm personally bothered about but my bottom line is: supporters clubs need to be limited)

Thought they'd cut our allocation because of "persistent standing" ?

I Didn't realise it was 700 though, I'd cut theirs when they visit for the same reason and only give them the lower.

As someone who has been to every away except for Norwich this season (Which I didn't just buy and sell on I should hasten to add. I was away and couldn't make it, so I didn't buya ticket, same for Stevenage on the 25th) , you do see a lot of the same faces at the matches

There's a really dedicated group of away fans who follow the blues all over the place

I only did about 5 aways last year, because I didn't have a season ticket and had to wait till general sale. Getting a season ticket is really the best COA if you want to get to aways. Obviously, not everyone can do that though

I've long thought that being a For Everton member should entitle you to get dibs on away tickets as well.

Being a Foreverton member doesn't mean you go to games though, a season ticket holder has to have some precedence over the general fan base. It's a kind of Loyalty Bonus, for purchasing next season tickets before this season has even finished, and if done on 1st day of renewals..... before Easter (we're only about 5-6 weeks away from renewal packs arriving).

Don't know how to copy the links in but if you go Alan Myers feed for last Friday there's a couple tweets regarding it, can't find the official Everton tweet, there's been loads since then.

also I'm not one for a conspiracy as I honestly do believe we've sold our allocation. I mean why wouldn't we?

True, and I'd only say that you would get in at the Season Ticket with no aways section, if you were a For Everton Member

It's still something you have to pay for and they can always check on teh computer how many games you've been too

What the club did do for me, which I thought was pretty sound of them, was that they agreed to count my aways from last season when I was just a For Everton member when I bought my season ticket

It really helped me out. I'm not sure it was the usual process either. They actually called me and said "You went to 17 home games last season as a member, it would be cheaper to get a season ticket" and I just slipped it in. The sales advisor came back and said "Yeah, we'll count them"

Like others I really doubt 2,000 people have 8 away credits. It's obvious the club has given away a fair number of tickets to people who didn't meet the criteria. It's nothing new, I'm sure every club in the land does it, doesn't make it right though.

Thanks - from Alan Myers in Twitter;

@ALANMYERS1: For those asking: the Reduced allocation v LFC is as a result of Restrictions put on Liverpool by safety and licensing officials. Specifically, two back rows of the visitors section are severely restricted views, leading to people standing in aisles. Safety issue. This is not the first time it has happened there have been other occasions when these rows have been closed off!

Stop throwing vague allegations around now eh?

I'm sure that some people have been just buying the tickets with no expectation to actually go to the match

That being said, I'm also sure there are a lot of people who DO go to every away game. This club has some exceptionally loyal away fans.

Not bothered about that, I probably agree the allocation needed reducing because it's pointless being on the back row if everyone's stood up. I just find it hard to believe 2000 odd people have attended every away this year.

The reduction wasn't 700 tickets, it was 177 tickets.

Our allocation was cut from 2864 to 2687.
