Everton legend Peter Reid has showcased his dramatic transformation, opening up about his hair transplant for the first time.

The 62-year-old followed in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney, going under the knife to get a new head of hair.

Huyton-born Reid, who won two league titles with Everton, was famed for his thick curly locks in the 80s.

But the former midfielder confessed that as time ticked by, the thought of going bald was 'playing on his [my] mind'.

And despite the gruelling surgery, which costs £7000 a time, Reid says he found the whole process 'therapeutic'.

As a proud badly I can't help but losing a smidgin if respect to any man (or woman) steered by vanity. We are what we are. There are more important things we all need to fix about ourselves than our facade.
