In light of Tesco and Brexit, which food would you miss most?

Heard this morning it's all the supermarkets. Tesco are the only one to go public so far.

Food prices are about to go through the roof thanks to Brexit, poor harvests and the European sugar shortage.

They produce plenty of it in Queensland Australia, maybe we can start to trade with our Commonwealth Nations again ? the ones that the EU/ Common Market stopped us from buying produce from because of excesses in Europe, I had plenty of Kiwis tell me that us joining up with our Continental Neighbours nearly ended their economy.
You never know, it could kickstart the ports again if we strike up the right kind of trade deal with europe as we become a transportation hub / back door to europe for the commonwealth to sell to them.

In fact I think I'll start planning an Enormous Statue on the South Coast that's visible from the French Coast, an gigantic 2 fingered salute to French Farmers cos they would be the ones to fume, block motorways & burn tractor tires etc.

This won't happen.

It is who blinks first situation. Tesco don't want to increase the prices as it negatively affects their low price policies they have. Unilever won't cut the supermarket (or any of them) off because for that small price profit that they want, they would lose billions by not selling anything here.

So Fingers crossed tesco and the like hold their nerve and tell them to do one, so they have to come crawling back

Europe doesn't really produce much sugar, it only produces beet sugar, which accounts for about 20% of the market, although the EU is the world's largest producer of this type of sugar. Europe is a net importer of raw cane sugar, which is refined in Europe, and this makes up the other 80%. The actual shortage is global, recent harvests have been crap due to El Nino. Demand in Europe alone is outstripping supply by more than 2 million tonnes this year and about 6 million tonnes globally.
