In Five Years Time

Same old same old, but Martinez won't be manager. Everyone will keep claiming that we have the best squad since the 80s every single year without us winning anything at all.

In five years il be 39 ..... If we haven't won anything by then I'm Guna watch something crap like golf Instead of Everton...... Honest

......just a slip of a lad. It got me doing a comparison, by my 39th birthday I'd seen us win 3 league titles (with a 4th not far away) a couple of FA Cups and a European Cup Winners Cup. Not gloating, just thinking how much you folk deserve that experience. Hang on in there, Matty.

Mate I'm so in envy at people who have seen us in our glory days!
I was 15 when we won the fa cup which was " good " but a league and European cup winners cup is something unique initself and to be able to say "Everton is the best in the county and one of the world in our prime" would of been amazing. I and We can live in hope!

I'll be 30 going on 31, but that's the good bit....

If I'm honest, we're not going to progress at the rate we're supposed to and end up relegated probably around the turn of the decade as other teams will adapt (get their "V6" engines sorted while we're still toiling with what we have) compounded by a repeated failure to qualify for Europe, resulting the last of our "peak" guys leaving for greener pastures.

The bottom line is our current crop aren't going to be ready for this type of onslaught. Ledson is supposedly our great white hope. Ledson who is now 17 - the same age Rooney was when he was terrifying the living daylights out of defenders 10 years his senior and slotting effortlessly into the England squad for Euro 2004. In short, the academy is not the answer and Goodison is another thorn in our side.

Martinez will not be manager but I'm buggered if I know who will want what is fast becoming a poisoned chalice.
A poisoned chalice? With only two managers, and only one former manager in how many years? 12? Hardly a poisoned chalice, and Martinez is here for the long term, or at least as long as Bill K is here.
