Immigration minister steps down

the british immigration minister stepped down after it was discovered that his cleaner didn't have the required visa to work in the uk. Found the irony of the situation mildly amusing.

Apparently when he took her on she had confirmation that she was allowed to stay and work. Later on she didn't.

not really sure making a mistake like this disqualifies him from his job, too much emphasise on public image for these roles

Yeah, these really. You know what the public are like though, they love a SCANDAL and an OUTRAGE. The Mail will be absolutely revelling in this.

Unbelievable that he did not make further checks when becoming a Cabinet Minister - it is that failure that has led to his resignation.

Rightly or wrongly there can be no short cuts in public office, Cameron will be fuming...........!
