And Acton in particular with 36% foreign born. Now that's what I call welcoming.

As someone who lived in Acton for 15 months, I can confirm it is a right dump and no at all welcoming.

Ive no problem with immigration, but you move 36% of any people into an area let alone people form a variety of backgrounds/languages/circumstances, your are not left with a lovely outer-london suburb.

Its not about being welcoming, its about being practical.

Everyone suffers from 36% immigration into an area the size of Acton, the locals, the immigrants themselves, the country.

You know that they all dont move in at the same time dont you? Some of the foreign born have been there decades, others a shorter period of time. It's the rate of absorption that counts.

Liverpool has always historically been a very mobile population, it's something we've been used to. So when I look at the local trend I have to say that these days we're a very stable area as far as immigration goes. No wonder the BNP are about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit around these parts.
