...would you be open to any approach from a fan? Saw what looked like Glen Johnson in Liverpool One with his family on Thursday when a bloke in an RS tracksuit and his RS tracksuited sprogs approached him and asked for a photo. Johnson looked like the bloke had just shat in his baby's pram but obliged. My question is though, even though he was obviously wanting a quiet day out with his family, should he also be willing to acknowledge the desire of a fan to get a photo with someone he may think a hero? After all, fans pay a great deal of his wages, he is exceedingly rich and famous, but by that same token is also a normal human being with a wife and family.

Thoughts?

Tbh if I saw a footballer out with his family I wouldnt go bounding over to him asking for a photo. I've seen footballers out before in clubs and just thought to myself 'big deal'. End of the day they're just people making a living with their family. If it was a situation where it was just me and a footballer say like in a shop thats about to close or if I was about to bum him then I might ask for a photo, but other than that, nope. Just let him get on with his business. I'd probably just say hey whoever it was and walk on.

Liverpool footballer, in Liverpool 1, in Liverpool. Of course he should go out of his way for any of the RS fans. As you say he gets paid a huge amount of money and he does sod all on the pitch.........

If he is with his family then he should be left alone as regards pics etc and general mither.

I was in a lift years ago with Scholes and his lad in the Trafford Centre, I said to my lad as the door was about to open "see that man son, he scores goals" then gave him a nod and left, I'd read that he hates being approached when with his family so respected that.
I then had to explain to my lad that he was a Ushyted & England player.

But the question was what should the footballer do, not the fans. Of course fans should just leave them alone but if one asks then earn your money........

Probably meant the shopping centre.

Although I went in there in my everton shirt coupla weeks ago. I like doing it for some reason.

Entirely up to the player.

If they want to be a stuck up prick and tell the fan to F off its entirely up to them, fans have no right to expect anything from a player off the pitch.

Sure its nice if players are good guys who sign autographs and chat with fans but people need to realise they are stil human.

Being left alone when with their family, especially with kids is all they request really and they shouldn't have to request it, they probably don't mind kids asking cos kids are kids, but fully grown men should know better.

It's entirely up to the player, but he is representing the club and earning s serious amount of money, he owes each and every single fan a sum of gratitude, a autograph should be the very least.

And a go with his missus, follow Stevie G's example.......
