Martyn
baines
jagielka
stones
coleman
mccarthy
besic
arteta
barkley
deulofeu
lukaku

this exercise has taught us that we need a GK and a LW.

Agreed, but we were pretty much doing a Leicester until Gravesen was sold during 04/05. Moyes was the pioneer of the 4-5-1 system at that time, a system that then became commonplace in the league for the next 10 years.
Moyes wasn't the pioneer. It was Mourinho that everyone tried to imitate.

Bollocks! Moyes brought that system to the Premier League. Moyes introduced that formation as a necessity that allowed him to get the best out of that particular Everton team. It was a defensive formation, which worked extremely well and forced the rest of the league to adapt.

mirallas is better than kilbane imo
The joint team would look something like

Martyn

Coleman
Weir
Stones
Baines

Deulofeu
Arteta/Gravesen
Carsley
Barkley
Kilbane

Lukaku.

A 5-6 split. The difference is we didn't cry anyone in 2005 unlike now where we carry Howard and have had 3 players under 22 in defence.
Kilbane was utter mince

Kilbane? I'd rather have Mirallas any day. Martyn definitely. I think groucho said it before though, this team with that teams organisation would be great.
