If this SOPA thing goes through...

To sum up, everything copyright gets taken down and the internet falls apart.
So yes, but it'd be exclusively amateur I guess.

It means nothing. Copyright theft is already illegal. They are already required to remove copyrighted files from sharing sites.

But they don't.

The internet will always win. It's become a giant all pervading root system and cutting down the trunk won't kill it.

It does look like its going tits up,the simple truth is you'll never stop piracy its become as ingrained as David Dickinson's orange suntan

The difference is, before it was requests to take the material down, if SOPA passes, it would give content owners the ability to actually shut down websites that they believe violate their copyright.

Photobucket, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Google, Yahoo, GrandOldTeam, Wikipedia all gone at the whim of copyright holders.

And that is just a small sampling of what would be taken down.

SOPA nor PIPA will ever see the light of day, if you've been keeping track of the backlash right now, this occasion is one of the few times to see true democracy at work.

Congress members who supported the bill are scared ****-less right now and every single one of them has backed off support "for further studies." What that means in reality is those individual congressmen and women have seen the exit door of their political careers crack open a bit, and will be telling the lobbyists from certain industries who greased their donation boxes; "sorry, I can't support this bill or it's my ass."

In the sick and twisted world of the internet, they still can't stamp out paedo's.
So what chance gazzilions of Bieber fans all downloading his latest nonsense.

This bill is so stupid that the people who wrote it should never be allowed to write a bill about the internet again, because it's clearly written by idiots (and greedy tits) who understand nothing about how the internet works
