It drives me mad how much money they can just throw away and waste on crap, whereas we have to weigh up even free transfers before we go for them.
If Moyes had half the budget every one of their managers gets given, we'd have picked up Hazard, Moutinho, Arshavin etc etc and won the fecking league.
I'm not laughing.
Yes, he's not worth £20 million, but seemingly money is no object to them.
Meanwhile we're still checking for pennies under the sofa.
I'm really not bothered what the RS get up to. They are spending loads in the quest to get champions league etc but the problem for them is IF they don't achieve it. City, united, Chelsea, spuds and even the arse will strengthen. There is not a pot of CL gold for all of them. They haven't got a bottomless pit of cash and they have got the stadium issue to address. My feeling is they've got a lot riding on this season and the pressure could be a massive thing for King Kenny to deal with.
Don't get me wrong I'd love at least the option to spend big money. However, I still think we can compete and we can still add players that can improve us.
We'll do our thing and they'll do their thing and we'll see where it leaves us both.
We'll do our thing and they'll do their thing and we'll see where it leaves us both.
It will never happen of course - but the thought that it will be King Kenny, and a host of massively overpriced purchases who all get idiot money*, that kills them off fills me with an inordinate amount of glee.
* Jovanovic and Cole are £200,000 a week the pair, arent they?
Howard
Neville Jags Distin Baines
Hazard Fellaini Moutihno Arshavin
Dzeko Jo
PWHOAR.
Where it tends to leave us both is we've only finished above them once in all the time I've been going to matches.
And the fact that they've spent more than twice what we've spent every year for over two decades is the main reason for that.
It's just ... £35 million on Carroll ffs, imagine what we could do with £35 million or with the £17 million Glen Johnson cost or the £7 million they splurged on Dossena. Or the £22 mil they spent on Heskey and Diouf. Thats like 14 Tim Cahills.
It's just we're so much better at spending money than they are and yet they're the ones who keep getting more to spend. If the real world worked that way, the best jobs would go to the retarded kids eating the crayons while the A* students would clean the toliets for spare change.
