I seem to remember Barry playing vs Schweinstieger in a world cup before.
If only English fans had a more realistic perception of how good our players are.
Don't be stupid Bruce.
Those players are easily good enough if only Hoddle, Keegan, Eriksson, McClaren, Capello, Hodgson would pick the right team instead of not playing young players like Jeffers, Pennant, Manciene, Wilshere, Cleverley, Sterling, Shaw who would obviously be miles better than the players picked instead.
If only English fans had a more realistic perception of how good our players are.
I mean if our 'golden generation' could only ever reach the quarter finals, it's hard to see what people expect of the current crop really. You sensed maybe a year ago there was a realistic expectation of how good our current squad are, but as the tournament has loomed closer and a few younger players have emerged you could sense the hype machine whirring into overdrive again.
I'm bored of people being cynical about England. It's all so easy to do.
