Disgraceful words, agree with Tubes the man should resign.

Favoritism aside the mans crass stupidity in not realising such words are ill advised is reason enough to turf the chimp out.

Who says he doesn't realise?

Maybe he just doesn't care. "I'm corrupt and I love it".

That is truly bizarre. And sad that it's seen in such a way.

As was mentioned, pretty much everyone in America is happy to see titans fall - whether Duke in the NCAA college basketball tourney, the Yankees, or any other team that wins too often in a short span.

Pathetic if a league is more concerned with fans in far off places watching over the internet than the people who actually live in the country, live for and attend the matches.

Arsed 1 bit about the "Product".

That is the problem with the National Team and Game as a whole.

We basicly sell ourselves to the highest bidder.....the English Prem is a whore.

"Lads, United aren't good enough to win the league this year, how can we keep the global brand strong?!" Scudamore panics.

"Well sir, there is Liverpool with their massive Asian fan base" says a quiet voice in the background.

"Did someone just say Liverpool? That's a bloody good idea, nobody will suspect a thing because they've been stuck in mediocrity for years! I'll inform the officials immediately" Scudamore remarks before breathing a sigh of relief.

Everyone in the room collectively chants "For the brand!" as the camera slowly zooms out.

Fin.

This is United's problem. It only becomes a major problem if all the well supported teams suddenly become rubbish overnight. I don't recall the same nonsense when Liverpool were struggling (Souness years, Hodgson) or Spurs being bottom for a good few weeks for that matter. But, if Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and (now) City were to fall down the same rabbit warren as United are in at the moment (a bit unlikely) then, of course, the "brand" would be affected. For me it's ok if another team becomes successful but - like all sports - your big names can't all fail collectively for there not to be a fall-out in terms of the marketing of the product.

I don't remember a major crisis when Blackburn won the league and they can hardly be described as a major draw (although that was pre-global brand days).

I heard the bell on the radio earlier this morning.

When asked if he had any preferences among the three teams fighting out the title race he replied "well, there is massive excitement right around the world that Liverpool are in with a chance of winning their firs ever Premiership title.....their worldwide fanbase is phenomenal given they have never been champions..."

In other words the "brand" is better suited by Liverpool winning.

He is a Bristol City fan. And would have resigned if they got into the PL a few years back.

This is a disgraceful piece of one club publicity. I fully expect the message to be nailed to the forehead of every Referee as a reminder of what is expected.............

It's disgusting. Just as no player is bigger than the club, no club is bigger than the league. It will be healthy for the league if Man U go into decline. They've simply dominated success far too much. And they can [Poor language removed] off if they think the division on the whole is worse off if they're not doing well.

This worries me.

What are the odds that United start getting (more) dodgy decisions going their way until they're back where they feel entitled to be?

Or suppose they really went south and were involved in a relegation struggle.

I could see that berk trying to change the rules so they couldn't go down.

It is the logical extension to what he said.

Wait a minute - he said the RS have never been Champions before? So even the FA are re-writing history to suit Sky
