Was gutted about Luther. A show that could have been amazing but held itself back.


But idris was quality. Hope he gets more bigger parts and has everyone talking about him

I think the length is what really got me about it. Take the second series, it felt forced on the viewer, why was he helping the girl? There was no context at that point to even suggest it was part of his character.

It went too close to the cliche cops show which was a shame because for what it done well (besides Idris) it was a great show. the crimes in the second series if those ideas are stretched to a full 6-8 series even it is suddenly more interesting to watch and there is plenty of character development so when they throw stuff at us, it makes sense and not something we just have to accept.

Oh I absolutely agree, that regrettably happens in television writing often - a good idea looks promising in the beginning but can be severely weakened by mediocre writing in the longrun...That first series was hard to improve upon and it got gradually worse, IMO
