Summerskin

Player Valuation: £35m
Now, I know the Echo and Daily post need their little blurbs on the back page but we have been exposed as the team that talks the talk this season, obviously never being able to walk the walk.

The following examples have been either said by some member of the team, including Moyes:

Man Utd: "Everton show amazing fighting spirit, we can step on from here!"
Lose at home to Newcastle 0-1 before being knocked out of the cup by Brentford the following week.

Chelsea: "Beckford leveller can provide springboard!!"
Draw 0-0 at home to Wigan.

Blackpool: "Saha back to his best!"
Louis Saha gets inevitably pulls up in training and hasn't scored since, possibly the worst performance under Moyes the week after at Bolton.

Chelsea: "We have to show spirit of 2009 to get back to Wembley!! Arteta wants to banish his cup final hoodoo, it's what the fans deserve!!".
Everton, OF COURSE then go and put in the most gutless display i've ever seen and get knocked out of the cup by Reading.

This week: "Arteta back to his best? Moyes eyes top 6 six for stuttering Everton!!"
Mikel Arteta gets injured before putting in another gutless home display which leaves our chances of European qualification ever so slimmer.

I'm not usually one for jinx's, but just shut up and get on with it Everton.

Spot on there mate. I hate empty words, which is pretty much all we get from the players.

I want to see actions.

Totally agree mate.

Our players need to start doing the talking on the pitch instead of releasing the same old tired stuff on the club website and other media outlets.

Tim Howard was on talksport before the game as well, saying they can kick on for europe.

Tim Howard should have saved that lame goal they scored yesterday, and countless other soft goals we've conceded this season, including the Newcastle game...

I know that 1 in particular didn't cost us any points, but I personally think he has cost us more points than he has been worth this season.

And I agree wholeheartedly with the original point. You would think the papers would actually be fed up "reporting" on these comments by now. They clearly mean nothing.

This whole season is just such a let down. I actually dread home games. Its 3 hours minimum I know I won’t be getting back, and I am invariably bored and/or angry at the end.

The whole club is a mess. We have players who barely fit the description...

Jermaine Beckford is pathetic. Granted, he has scored the odd goal, and I am sure that wherever he plays football, he will always score goals, as he does seem to have a bit of knack. But he scores ones I don't expect him to score, and the ones he should be finishing, usually look so bad, I blush on his behalf. He is the modern day equivalent of Stuart Barlow, but with less than half the passion and effort.

Anichebe... I rest my case.

Luis Saha. He scored 4 goals against mighty Blackpool. He's done his bit. Don't expect anything else from him now. That would be unreasonable. How ANYONE thinks he is now or has ever been a better player than Yakubu, I will never know. Don't get me wrong, Yak is not perfect. He doesn't run nearly half as much as Moyes would like him too... And that, is basically the point. He doesn't run round like a tit like Moyes demands from his strikers. **** goals, ability, etc. If he doesn't pass out in the dressing room after the game for running after ridiculous hopeful passes, Moyes don't want him near his side.

Moyes I think is the biggest culprit though... I could go on about other players, but I honestly believe that a lot of the sides deficiencies are down to Moyes negative attitude, tactics and instructions. It's Moyes who instructs his players not to shoot, he admitted earlier this year, and we heard similar tales a couple of seasons ago. It's Moyes who picks players to play out of position. It's Moyes who refuses to change things around, whether that be Starting 11 or substitutions.

This season, we are, as a team, the epitome of average. We are incredibly boring to watch. We have drawn almost half of our games, and won as many as we have lost. We have a Zero goal difference, and we sit as close to the middle of the table as our accumulated points will allow us. Even our season high spot was a 1-1 draw, leading to 0-0 draw in the replay, followed by a 1-1 extra time draw, followed by a penalty shootout win, which we then muddied by losing outright to a far inferior team, both to us and the team we previously conquered.

Moyes is the manager and the buck stops with him. And the only thing he has successfully managed this season is our collective expectations.

Season ticket renewal came yesterday.

LOL

bit of a different angle on this but does anyone even read player articles on websites, press etc - they are all the usual generic, ten a penny safe media trained guff.

they hardly give any real insight, thay are way to safe.

yep. stop them boring us.
