I think we're gearing up for a couple of busy weeks?

According to various people, Moyes wants our deals tied up before we head off to Africa and America.

I think we're gearing up for a busy couple of weeks. Moyes has learnt from last season and has seen how bringing in you're targets in the early summer settles the squad and gives it more of a balance. I'm sure he knows this but it will be nice to see him do it. I think he has decent funds, the club have made noises about bringing in 'high profile' signings according to the Echo.

If we can bring in our signings before we head off or at least have them all done before the new season, we're be on track for a great season. The team struggled last season because we just weren't settled and balanced enough until November/December. If we can get that right balance we'll be off to a flyer imo. Fellaini and Saha will have a pre season under their belts and we'll be looking good. Just hope we're saying this come August 15th.

I do hope we get any transfers completed early so they can have a full pre season.

Then if they turn out bad, no one can use the excuse "let's just give him a Moyesy pre season and he'll be good next year!

That's a big IF! I think all managers would love to have their squads done when they return to work after their summerholiday so they can start to glue the team together and prepare. Hopefully we will get 1 or 2 more players before we leave, in addition to the german teenager and the american. But I can see us bringing in one or two later in the transferwindow as well.

Fellaini, McFadden, Martyn, Kilbane and a few more have come in in the last minutes before the window closed. So it can very well happen again.

Why lie?

You've heard no noises from the club, the Echo have not commented and we don't have decent funds.

We'll sign Joe Ledley, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Owen. Maybe a loan or two added to that.

Hope not. Have you seen that picture of him on holiday? I swear he looks like the Greek fella from my takeaway. Unbelievable how he is a footballer.

Agreed. All speculation, inaccuracy and supposition. :dodgy:

We probably wont sign any of the already mentioned targets and will bring in players completely off the radar. This is the main reason i dont get too involved in the Transfer Rumour threads. All i know is Moyes should bring in players early like i stated this time last year. I even went as far as to say Moyes should put his holiday plans on hold, getting to work straight away on building the squad, go on his holiday then return for pre-season with all his transactions complete.

What Moyes wants is probably not all that different from the rest of us. What he will get is another matter. The transfer window doesn't open as I recall until 1st July and all the factors that have pushed many signings back towards the end of the window in previous seasons still operate : availability of funds; the need to source players and get best value for money; the need to play a tight negotiating game because funds are tight; uncertainty about whether we'll retain squad members; similar uncertainties at other clubs holding up any transfer negotiations; etc etc.

Another Everton trait that lets the club down. They should keep quiet until deals are done and dusted. Although this time of the year is exciting in terms of bringing in new faces, i cant help but fear it may be another frustrating time for us blues that crave for more quality and strength in depth. Already we are four players short of the squad that started last season. Ok, several of those players released where fringe players and young lads but the squad size has been reduced like it seems to do each season. Sorry for my negativity but i worry about things like this. I hope my concerns are all for nothing and we strengthen the squad sufficiently.

Posted via Mobile Device No worries Tadpole, Moyes will work his usual magic with whatever squad we have come opening game.

We seem to have the same scenario every year....I am sure Davey and the club know more about what players they are after etc more than any of us. I reckon it is a case of sitting tight and waiting *again* "In Moyes we trust"
